We are working with a manufacturing client in Wayne County seeking a Purchasing Specialist to support day-to-day supply chain operations. This role is responsible for placing and tracking purchase orders, coordinating with suppliers, and ensuring materials arrive on time to support production demands. This position is part of an established purchasing team, offering a collaborative environment with shared responsibilities and support. If interested apply today!

Pay Rate: $24-$26/hr
Schedule: M-F 7am-3:30pm

Responsibilities:

  • Source and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, and availability
    Identify and evaluate new suppliers to improve supply chain efficiency
  • Obtain and compare quotes to support cost-effective purchasing decisions
  • Create, issue, and manage purchase orders within an ERP system
  • Review supplier acknowledgements and maintain accurate data
  • Track orders and proactively expedite materials to meet production timelines
  • Communicate delivery updates and delays to internal teams
  • Resolve order discrepancies with suppliers
  • Partner with Quality and Accounting on supplier and invoice issues
  • Maintain reporting on order and expedite status
Required Qualifications:  
  • Minimum 5+ years in an office, purchasing, or administrative role
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word)
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Clear communication skills with vendors and internal teams
  • High attention to detail and follow-through
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Background in manufacturing, supply chain, or production scheduling
  • Experience working with ERP systems
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
