About the Role

Join a well-established construction and engineering contractor with an active portfolio of major health infrastructure projects in Perth, who is seeking an experienced Design Manager to join their team immediately.

 

This is a permanent, office-based position sitting across a concurrent portfolio of live projects at different stages, including an early contractor involvement (ECI) engagement. The role offers genuine breadth: you will be managing design across multiple workstreams simultaneously, with direct influence from the ECI phase through to construction delivery. The client has a strong and growing track record across health, education, and commercial sectors nationally.

 

Reporting to the project leadership team, you will own the design management function across a live portfolio of major health infrastructure contracts.

 

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead design management across all phases: ECI, detailed design, procurement, and delivery
  • Manage facade and building envelope packages end-to-end
  • Act as the key interface between consultants, contractors, and client stakeholders
  • Review and approve design documentation against programme, cost, and contract requirements
  • Drive RFIs, design queries, and change management processes
  • Support the procurement of facade and specialist subcontractor packages
  • Contribute to buildability reviews and value engineering during ECI
  • Maintain design registers, approvals, and tracking systems across projects
  • Manage consultant performance and design programme alignment

 

 

About You
  • 8+ years’ industry experience, including 3+ years in Design Management or coordination roles
  • Strong experience with facades and building envelope systems (non-negotiable)
  • Background in either:
  • Facades Specialist (curtain wall, cladding, glazing, subcontractor management), or
  • Architectural (with contractor-side design management experience)
  • Experience within Tier 1 / Tier 2 contractors or EPC/EPCM environments
  • Solid understanding of Australian construction documentation and delivery frameworks
  • Proven ability to manage multiple design packages under programme pressure
  • Experience on health or complex commercial projects (highly regarded)
  • Available immediately or on short notice (preferred)
