Requirements of position
 
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: 
  1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 
  2. CPA or CMA 
  3. 8 years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing, including 2+ years of leadership experience. 
  4. Public company and/or public accounting experience 
Additional Skills:
  1. Strong knowledge of cost accounting, inventory control, and GAAP. 
  2. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint) 
  3. Experience preparing financial statements and footnote disclosures required. 
  4. Strong verbal and written communication skills 
  5. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines. 
  6. Interact effectively with Team Members at all organizational levels 
  7. Able to maintain an appropriate level of confidentiality 
  8. Proficiency in ERP systems (IFS, SAP, Oracle, or similar) and Excel. 
  9. Excellent analytical and communication skills. 
 
 
Responsibilities of position
 
Location: On-Site, Coral Gables, FL 33146
Pay: $150k per year plus benefits
 
The Associate Controller supports the financial operations of the manufacturing facility, ensuring accurate reporting, compliance, and cost control. This role focuses on managing accounting processes, analyzing manufacturing costs, and assisting with financial planning to optimize profitability in the production of audio panels. 
 
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: 
Financial Reporting & Compliance 
  1. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP. 
  2. Responsible for calculating and posting all financial statement estimates and reserves that are applicable (for example, warranty and inventory reserves). 
  3. Ensure compliance with internal controls and corporate policies. 
  4. Assist with audits and regulatory filings. 
  5. Lead and manage the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate completion of all journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting. 
  6. Provide external auditors with all necessary documents and information. 
  7. Responsible for reviewing month-to-date and year-to-date flux explanations. 
 
Cost Accounting & Inventory Management 
  1. Maintain and analyze standard costs for audio panel production. 
  2. Monitor variances between actual and standard costs; recommend corrective actions. 
  3. Oversee inventory valuation and reconciliation processes. 
  4. Provide guidance and oversee the annual physical inventory observation. 
 
Budgeting & Forecasting 
  1. Assist in developing annual budgets and rolling forecasts. Perform analytical review of actual monthly revenues and expenses as compared to budgeted figures. 
  2. Explain material differences between budgeted and actual figures. 
  3. Provide variance analysis and performance metrics to management. 
 
Operational Support 
  1. Partner with production and engineering teams to understand cost drivers. 
  2. Support initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce waste. 
  3. Communicate with other departments regarding any issue that affects accounting. 
 
Systems & Process Improvement 
  1. Lead implementation of ERP systems and optimize financial workflows. 
  2. Identify opportunities for automation and process enhancements. 
  3. Perform review of current accounting processes to find inefficiencies that can be corrected. 
  4. Ensure proper recording of Corporate Credit Card transactions into the ERP system (IFS). 
 
Leadership & Supervision 
  1. Supervise and manage a department accounting and finance team members, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations. 
  2. Responsible for writing performance evaluations for direct reports. 
  3. Provide coaching to direct reports. 
 
Approval & Oversight Responsibilities 
  1. Responsible for approving write-offs, bank account reconciliations, credits issued, cash entries, wires initiated, customer payment terms granted, and all manual journal entries. 
  2. Approve rebate and commission expenses calculated by the Sales department.
