Family Lawyer (Senior Associate/Special Counsel level)

As a Family Lawyer (Senior Associate or Special Counsel), you will play a key role in providing strategic family legal advice and representation to a diverse range of clients. This is a full-time permanent position based in Melbourne CBD.

What you'll be doing

1. Advising clients on all aspects of family law, including divorce, property settlement, child custody and support
2. Drafting complex legal documents such as consent orders, financial agreements and parenting plans
3. Representing clients in mediations, arbitrations and court proceedings
4. Conducting legal research and analysis to support the resolution of complex family law matters
5. Mentoring and supervising more junior members of the legal team
6. Developing and maintaining strong client relationships
7. Contributing to the firm's business development and marketing initiatives

What we're looking for

1. Proven experience operating at Senior Associate or Special Counsel level in family law, with a proven track record of successfully representing clients
2. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts in plain English
3. Excellent legal research and analytical skills
4. Demonstrated experience in supervising and mentoring more junior lawyers
5. Passion for the practice of family law and a commitment to achieving the best outcomes for clients
6. Flexibility and adaptability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
