Overview
We are seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Technician to support the installation, maintenance, and repair of manufacturing equipment and facility systems. This role requires a well-rounded skill set across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems, along with strong troubleshooting abilities and a commitment to safety.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance & Repair
- Perform preventative maintenance (PMs) and routine inspections on equipment
- Diagnose mechanical failures and complete repairs independently
- Identify equipment issues and recommend repairs or upgrades
- Install, maintain, and relocate machinery as needed
Troubleshooting & Technical Support
- Troubleshoot equipment issues with minimal supervision
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and diagrams for diagnostics
- Utilize meters and basic electrical knowledge to support repairs
- Contact equipment manufacturers for technical support when needed
Fabrication & Mechanical Work
- Perform general fabrication including MIG and TIG welding, plasma cutting, oxy-acetylene torch cutting, and band saw operation
- Support machining tasks as needed (lathe and mill experience preferred)
Facility Maintenance
- Perform general plumbing repairs and installations (water, air, and drain lines; sinks; toilets; etc.)
- Maintain and repair HVAC systems (unit heaters, furnaces, AC systems, exhaust fans, industrial ovens, etc.)
Hydraulics & Pneumatics
- Maintain and repair pneumatic systems (air lines, valves, cylinders)
- Service hydraulic components (hoses, pumps, motors, valves)
Equipment Operation & Support
- Safely operate forklifts and scissor lifts
- Assist external contractors with equipment installation and repairs
Inventory & Documentation
- Maintain inventory and control of maintenance supplies
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe
- Follow all maintenance procedures and documentation requirements
Continuous Improvement & Teamwork
- Support process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce downtime
- Maintain strong working relationships across teams
- Participate in on-call maintenance rotation
Qualifications
Basic Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- One of the following:
- 2 years technical training + 4 years of industrial maintenance experience, or
- 8 years of hands-on industrial maintenance experience
- Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents
- Experience with power tools and industrial equipment
- Ability to read, write, and follow instructions in English
- Flexible to work varying hours and participate in on-call rotation
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience operating manual machines (lathe and mill)
- Background in multi-craft maintenance (mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing)
- Welding and fabrication experience
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Ability to safely perform physically demanding tasks
- Frequent standing, bending, lifting, and reaching
- Must follow all safety protocols and use required PPE
- Willingness to train on a day shift for approximately 6–12 months
