A Grinder operates machines to shape, sharpen, or smooth metal objects or parts. Responsible for operating machines to produce precision metal parts according to specifications.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate grinding machines to shape, sharpen, or smooth metal workpieces.

• Select appropriate grinding tools and equipment based on the specifications of the job.

• Inspect finished workpieces to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.

• Make adjustments to the grinding machine as needed to achieve precise measurements and finishes.

• Read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints to understand the specifications of the workpiece.

• Prepare materials for grinding by securing them in the machine and making any necessary adjustments.

• Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols while operating grinding machines.

• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow established safety procedures.

• Perform routine maintenance on grinding machines to ensure they operate efficiently.

• Report any machine malfunctions or maintenance needs to the supervisor.

• Maintain accurate records of work performed, including measurements, adjustments, and any issues encountered during the grinding process.

Qualifications and Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Proven experience as a Grinder in a manufacturing or metalworking environment.

• Familiarity with various types of grinding machines and tools.

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.

• Strong attention to detail and precision.

• Knowledge of safety protocols and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

• Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods.

Benefits/Compensation

• Full Time

• Pay Rate is $12 per hour

• 1st shift (6am-2pm)

• Weekly pay while employed through Career Concepts

• Benefits available while employed through Career Concepts

• Temp-To-Hire

• Benefits after Probation period
