Data Engineer (Senior)

A Singapore-based software firm specializing in cloud-native applications and digital solutions. The company focuses on building scalable, customized platforms and helping businesses drive digital transformation through modern technologies and agile delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Data Infrastructure: Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and storage solutions.
• Data Quality: Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of data across all systems and workflows.
• Performance Optimization: Improve the efficiency and scalability of data processing jobs and platforms.
• Process Improvement & Mentorship: Enhance data engineering practices and provide guidance to junior team members.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with data scientists, business analysts, and engineering teams to deliver high-quality, actionable data solutions.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Experience: At least 5 years of experience in data engineering or backend engineering roles.
• Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in Python, Java, or Scala
  • Hands-on experience with big data technologies such as Spark, Flink, Kafka, and Airflow
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
  • Strong SQL skills
• Data Modeling: Proven experience designing and maintaining data models, data warehouses, and ETL/ELT pipelines.
• System Design: Strong capability in building scalable and reliable data architectures for both batch and real-time processing.
• Data Governance: Solid understanding of data quality, security, lineage, and compliance best practices.
• Collaboration: Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
