Summary: Nesco Resource is seeking a Distribution & Warehouse Operations Manager to lead warehouse and logistics operations in Rochester, NY. This role is responsible for overseeing end-to-end distribution, including receiving, inventory control, shipping, and transportation to distribution centers and customers. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, logistics expertise, and a proven ability to drive efficiency, accuracy, and continuous improvement across warehouse operations.
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Lead end-to-end warehouse operations including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping across multiple sites
• Manage outbound transportation to distribution centers and direct-ship customers
• Build, lead, and develop high-performing warehouse teams
• Drive inventory accuracy through cycle counting and root cause analysis
• Optimize warehouse layout, slotting, and material flow for efficiency and safety
• Oversee carrier performance, transportation planning, and freight cost management
• Partner cross-functionally with production, planning, quality, customer service, and finance teams
• Ensure compliance with safety standards (OSHA), transportation regulations (DOT/FMCSA), and company policies
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, 5S, Kaizen)
• Manage budgets, labor planning, and operational costs
• Support peak operations planning and business continuity strategies

• High School Diploma or GED required
• 7–10+ years of experience in warehousing, distribution, or logistics
• Strong leadership experience managing teams and operations
• Experience with multi-site warehouse operations preferred
• ERP/WMS/TMS experience required (SAP preferred)
• Knowledge of OSHA, DOT/FMCSA, and logistics compliance standards
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
• Bachelor's degree preferred

• Combination of office, warehouse, and manufacturing environments
• Exposure to chemicals, industrial equipment, and active production areas
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed
• Frequent standing, walking, and movement throughout facilities
• Occasional forklift operation
