Corporate Investment Specialist

About the Role:

The position sits within the Corporate Investment Department and is focused on executing and managing investments in Japanese companies and private equity (PE) funds both domestically and globally. Initially based in Tokyo or at an affiliated investment destination (including overseas), the role includes active involvement in M&A, deal execution, post-investment value creation, and fund management. This is a high-impact position that offers a clear growth path to senior roles in investment strategy, fund operations, or corporate development.

Responsibilities:

• Origination, evaluation, and execution of investment opportunities in domestic companies and PE funds
• Negotiation and closing of M&A deals
• Planning and implementing strategic growth initiatives for portfolio companies
• Monitoring and enhancing the performance of invested businesses
• Participating in the planning, development, and administration of PE fund operations
• Collaborating with internal stakeholders and external partners to drive value creation

Requirements:

Essential:

• Proven experience in corporate investment or M&A execution
• Ability to independently manage investment processes, including due diligence, valuation, negotiation, and closing

Preferred:

• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience at a PE fund, investment bank, consulting firm, or corporate M&A department
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
• Experience leading or playing a key role in multiple transaction cycles
