Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Director of Nursing to lead and inspire our nursing team while ensuring the provision of the highest quality healthcare services. This role will play a pivotal part in providing strategic and operational leadership across all aspects of nursing care, clinical governance, and nursing management. Responsibilities

• Provide effective leadership to the nursing team, fostering an environment of growth, collaboration, and professional excellence.

• Oversee the planning, organization, and management of all nursing operations, ensuring consistency in delivering safe, patient-centered care.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to promote interdepartmental communication and achieve organizational goals.
• Maintain accountability for the performance, development, and evaluation of nursing staff, ensuring opportunities for training and continuous professional growth.
• Lead initiatives aimed at improving equity, cultural competence, and understanding within the team to serve diverse patient populations effectively.
• Conduct regular audits and evaluations to monitor service quality and implement improvements based on findings.
• Rigorously monitor budgets, resources, and staffing levels to ensure efficient delivery of services.
• Establish and uphold policies and procedures that reflect best practices in nursing and clinical governance.

Qualifications

• Current and valid professional nursing license.
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) is required; a Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or a related field is strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years of nursing experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership or nursing management role.
• Demonstrated experience in clinical governance and quality improvement initiatives.
• Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, compliance standards, and best practices in patient care.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication abilities, with a proven track record of fostering team cohesion and engagement.

Day-to-Day

• Lead, mentor, and support a multidisciplinary team of nursing professionals.
• Conduct regular assessments of nursing practices, ensuring adherence to accreditation and regulatory requirements.
• Serve as a point of contact between senior leadership, nursing staff, and other departments.
• Facilitate ongoing training programs to enhance the professional competencies of nursing staff.
• Monitor patient care outcomes and address any discrepancies proactively.
• Respond to critical incidents effectively and guide the team through problem resolution.
• Engage with patients, their families, and stakeholders to promote satisfaction and trust in care services.
• Review and approve work schedules for nursing personnel, ensuring adequate staffing levels.
