Job Title: Pharmacy Manager / Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC)
Reports To: Senior Director of Specialty & Infusion
Primary Location: Dallas–Fort Worth, Texas (Permanent Site)
Travel Requirement: Weekly travel to Houston during initial LTC launch phase
The expected schedule is 8 am - 5 pm, however, with being in the startup stages, the day to day could look a little bit different
Salary: 136,000-144,000
Job Summary:
The Pharmacy Manager / Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) will serve as the regulatory and operational leader for a startup specialty and infusion pharmacy in Texas.
The long-term permanent pharmacy location will be in the Dallas–Fort Worth area. During the initial launch phase, operations will begin at an existing Houston-based LTC pharmacy location. The PIC must be willing to travel to Houston weekly to provide onsite oversight during this transitional period.
This pharmacy focuses on high-cost biologic and specialty infusion therapies. While sterile compounding is not part of the initial launch scope, future expansion may include sterile compounding services. The PIC must be capable of supporting implementation of USP <797>/<800> compliant processes if that service line is added.
This role works in close partnership with the Senior Director of Specialty & Infusion to execute operational strategy, establish compliant workflows, and build a scalable specialty and infusion platform.
This is a startup leadership role requiring a highly accountable operator comfortable building compliant systems from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities:
Regulatory & PIC Accountability
- Serve as Pharmacist-in-Charge in accordance with Texas State Board of Pharmacy regulations.
- Maintain full responsibility for legal operation of the Class A pharmacy.
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal pharmacy laws.
- Maintain DEA compliance (if applicable).
- Oversee inspection readiness and audit response.
- Lead accreditation preparation and ongoing compliance (ACHC and/or URAC).
- Ensure appropriate pharmacist staffing levels consistent with Texas Class A personnel requirements.
- Provide direct regulatory oversight during the Houston launch phase and transition to the DFW permanent location.
- Oversee implementation of USP <797>/<800> policies and environmental monitoring.
- Ensure appropriate compounding training, competency documentation, and compliance infrastructure.
- Implement specialty and infusion workflows including intake, dispensing, documentation, and inventory management.
- Partner with Senior Director to execute startup build plan.
- Establish compliant cold-chain storage and transport processes.
- Oversee high-cost biologic inventory controls and shrink mitigation.
- Ensure appropriate pharmacist and technician staffing coverage.
- Support transition from Houston launch site to DFW permanent site.
- Support limited distribution drug (LDD) requirements and documentation.
- Ensure REMS compliance where applicable.
- Collaborate with intake, reimbursement, sales and nursing leadership to optimize time-to-therapy.
- Maintain coordination standards with referring providers.
- Support infusion therapy verification and oversight in partnership with nursing leadership.
- Monitor operational KPIs (inventory turns, time-to-therapy, Medicare refill note compliance, lead time, on-time refill requirements, audit findings, error rates).
- Identify workflow improvement opportunities.
- Escalate strategic operational recommendations to Senior Director.
- Maintain continuous readiness for accreditation and inspection.
- Direct supervision of pharmacy staff.
- Provide coaching, training, and performance management.
- Foster a culture of compliance, accountability, and patient-centered care.
- Support development of specialty and infusion pharmacy staff as service lines expand.
Required
- Active Texas Pharmacist license in good standing.
- Eligible to serve as PIC under Texas law.
- Willingness to reside in the Dallas–Fort Worth area.
- Willingness to travel weekly to Houston during initial launch phase.
- 3+ years pharmacy operations experience.
- Experience in specialty pharmacy, infusion, or biologic therapies.
- Strong understanding of specialty reimbursement workflows.
- Experience managing high-cost inventory.
- Experience supporting ACHC or URAC accreditation.
- Experience with infusion therapies (IVIG, biologics, specialty injectables).
- Experience in startup or new service line implementation.
- Experience with sterile compounding operations (if future expansion occurs).
