Lead Structured Cabling Technician – San Antonio, Texas

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support structured cabling installations on commercial job sites
  • Pull, terminate, dress, and label CAT5e/CAT6 cable
  • Test installed cable using Fluke or similar testers
  • Punch down voice and data jacks
  • Install racks, patch panels, cable trays, cabinets, MDF/IDF, ladder racks, and pathway systems
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and system layouts
  • Lead crews onsite and ensure projects stay on schedule
  • Install and support low voltage systems including access control, CCTV, audio visual, and fiber optic systems
  • Troubleshoot cabling and connectivity issues as needed
  • Work safely on ladders and lifts while following all site safety requirements

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of commercial structured cabling or low voltage experience
  • Previous lead technician experience preferred
  • Strong experience with CAT5e/CAT6 installations and terminations
  • Experience testing and troubleshooting structured cabling systems
  • Ability to read blueprints and work independently
  • Experience leading crews or coordinating work onsite
  • BICSI, Lift, and OSHA certifications are a plus
  • Must have basic hand tools and standard PPE including hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, hi-vis vest, and steel-toe boots
  • Working knowledge of telecom/data networks
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to job sites throughout the San Antonio area as needed
