Title: Principal Power Systems Engineer
Location: Hybrid in HQ Melbourne or remote from other states.
Salary: $230-$250k base +
Scope: Technical Delivery & Strategic Leadership
Project portfolio summary: 280+ successful grid connection projects across wind, solar, and BESS (145+ windfarm projects, 75+ Solar Farm projects, 35+ Bess & Grid studies)
Candidate Brief - What We're Looking For:
Our principals don't just manage work - they drive it.
They bring personal investment to every project, set the standard for technical excellence, and lift the people around them.
We're looking for an engineer who go beyond the brief because they genuinely care about the outcome - people who are strong within themselves, back their expertise, and lead by example.
That's what sets our people apart.
Role Expectations:
Following a carve-out from the Lloyd's Register (LR) Group, LR's Energy business is now Vysus Group, a standalone engineering and technical consultancy.
Vysus Group retains LR Energy's entire capability and continues to offer its full suite of technical, regulatory and operational expertise globally, with all 650+ of our global experts transitioning.
Driven by our purpose to help clients manage risk and maximise performance, blending deep technical knowledge and data-driven insights with hands on expertise.
LR Energy has subsequently supported the transformation of global energy infrastructure, working on complex and large-scale energy projects around the world, becoming one of the leading engineering consultancy partners of choice.
Vysus Group's Power Engineering team dates back to 2003 beginning as one of the world's first renewable energy-focused grid consultancies.
Since then, Vysus Group's Power Engineering team has been supporting the grid connection of renewables in Australia and beyond.
A Word on Culture:
People who've worked here speak fondly of the team - not just the work, but the people.
What makes Vysus warm and genuine is something hard to pin down.
It occurred to me that two people who've been here the longest are a big part of it: Parthena, who brings a natural care and attention to everything she touches, and Tony, whose knowledge, leadership and willingness to share sets a tone for the whole group.
They drive something intangible - a culture that's felt rather than described.
That's worth knowing before you join.
Next Steps:
Your recruiter, Jasmine Wiklander, will arrange a brief screening conversation to discuss your experience in these areas.
Please apply or call her on 0405 437 667 for a confidential conversation.
