Salary: $93,000 – $104,000 Package

Reporting To: Production Manager
Roster: Early start (6:00am–2:45pm), with occasional overtime + rotating Saturday in lieu
Chandler Macleod is partnering with a market-leading organisation to recruit an experienced Assistant Production Manager to support high-volume manufacturing operations in Adelaide’s inner North-West. This is a key leadership role overseeing a large workforce in a fast-paced environment, driving operational performance, safety, and customer outcomes.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Production Leadership: Support end-to-end production operations to meet daily output, quality, and delivery targets
• Planning & Scheduling: Manage labour rostering and workflow to optimise efficiency and meet customer demand
• Team Leadership: Lead a workforce of ~50 staff (direct & indirect), including 5 Team Leaders, driving engagement and performance
• KPI Delivery: Achieve key metrics including DIFOT, labour % to revenue, and customer satisfaction
• Lean Manufacturing: Drive continuous improvement initiatives including 5S and Lean methodologies
• Systems & Reporting: Utilise systems such as Spindle, SAP, and performance data to monitor and improve operations.pdf
• Safety & Compliance: Ensure full adherence to WHS legislation, HACCP principles, and internal policies
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Service, Engineering, and leadership teams to deliver operational excellence

About You

• Experience: Proven success in a similar Assistant Production Manager or operations leadership role (manufacturing essential)
• Leadership: Strong people management experience across large teams, with the ability to coach, influence, and drive accountability
• Operational Knowledge: Solid understanding of production planning, rostering, and performance metrics
• Continuous Improvement: Experience with Lean Manufacturing and 5S principles
• Systems Skills: Exposure to systems such as SAP, Spindle (or similar), and workforce/production tools
• Compliance Focus: Strong understanding of safety, WHS, and industrial relations requirements
• Personal Attributes: High energy, proactive, relationship-focused, and confident communicator
