Job Summary
Are you a motivated and detail-oriented individual looking for a new opportunity? We're seeking a Material Handler to join our team in Farmington Hills, Michigan. In this role, you'll be a vital part of our operations, helping us to support the smooth and efficient flow of materials that keep our production and shipping processes moving.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Material Handler, your core responsibilities will include:
- Material Handling & Storage: Receive, distribute, and store materials and finished products in designated secure locations to support production and inventory accuracy.
- Transportation & Loading: Move materials manually or with hand trucks and skids; use forklift if certified to enhance operational efficiency.
- Shipping Coordination: Act as a liaison with the shipping clerk to confirm shipping details, special instructions, and help expedite time-sensitive shipments.
In addition, you will also be expected to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, while assisting with inventory cycle counts and disposing of scrap materials appropriately.
What We're Looking For
To be successful in this role, you should have the following:
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment (preferred)
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs unassisted and up to 45 lbs with assistance
Skills:
- Communication: Excellent verbal communication skills to collaborate with team members and shipping staff.
- Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills and accuracy in handling and recording materials.
- Tech Proficiency: Familiarity with Microsoft Office and the ability to perform data entry for inventory management.
