The successful candidate will be responsible for contractor monitoring and oversight across assigned work packages, with a primary focus on route development and refinement, field verification activities, and overall pre-construction preparation. A functional understanding of routing criteria — encompassing cost, engineering constraints, and common environmental considerations — is expected.

  • Oversee quality control and quality assurance processes to confirm work meets applicable design requirements and standards
  • Prepare and distribute project updates and reports in line with client requirements
  • Provide broad project support for all construction-related activities as directed by leadership
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the Contractor and Project Management team
  • Provide environmental oversight in accordance with permit conditions and regulatory requirements
  • Support route refinement activities, applying value engineering or equivalent methodologies to optimize criteria ahead of permitting and late-stage pre-construction activities
  • Conduct routing and siting tradeoff assessments in conditions of uncertainty, evaluating risks with input from subject matter experts across Engineering, Environmental, Legal, Development, and Land

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Power Generation, or a related discipline; equivalent professional experience will be considered
  • Demonstrable experience managing and overseeing large-scale construction projects, including generation tie and transmission infrastructure
  • Extensive background in high-level project decision-making, risk mitigation, and construction leadership within a heavily regulated environment
  • Proven experience in late-stage pre-construction activities, including route refinement and permitting preparation
  • Willingness and ability to travel within the US approximately 25% of the time

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  • Strong working knowledge of routing criteria development across functions including cost, engineering, and environmental constraints
  • Experience performing routing and siting tradeoff decisions in the presence of uncertainty, with the ability to identify, evaluate, and communicate routing risks
  • Ability to engage and collaborate with cross-functional subject matter experts including Engineering & Construction, Environmental Services, Legal, Development, and Land
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated comfort presenting risks and recommendations to senior stakeholders
