Position Summary

The Structured Cabling Technician is responsible for installing, terminating, and supporting low-voltage cabling systems in a commercial campus environment. This role is ideal for entry to mid-level technicians who are eager to learn, grow, and develop their skills in structured cabling and network infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Pull, terminate, and test Cat6 cabling in commercial environments
  • Perform rack and stack of network equipment and patch panels
  • Assist with cabinet installation and cable organization
  • Support ongoing structured cabling projects across campus facilities
  • Maintain clean, organized, and professional job sites
  • Follow all safety procedures and company standards
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
  • Represent the company professionally when working around staff and students

Requirements

  • ~1+ year of structured cabling or low-voltage experience
  • Experience with Cat6 cable installation, termination, and testing
  • Familiarity with rack & stack and basic cabinet installations
  • General commercial cabling experience
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
  • Professional demeanor suitable for a campus environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in large campus or institutional environments
  • Basic understanding of network infrastructure
  • Strong desire to learn and grow within the low voltage industry

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

Ability to work on ladders and in ceilings

Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in various environments
