About the Position

This role is ideal for teachers with expertise in HPE, EAL, foundational literacy and numeracy, or experienced primary educators seeking a transition into secondary teaching with cross-curricular responsibilities. Teachers will work with a diverse student cohort, many from remote communities, supporting them in re-engaging with education. The school seeks adaptable and resilient educators with a student-centered approach and experience in trauma-informed practice.

Skills and Responsibilities

  • Strengths in HPE, EAL, foundational maths/literacy, or across multiple learning areas is highly desirable.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of students, working collaboratively with support staff in classrooms.
  • Adapt teaching to meet diverse learning needs, fostering student engagement and success.
  • Integrate high-interest subjects, such as PE and cross-curricular learning, to enhance participation.
  • Demonstrate leadership and flexibility in a dynamic educational setting, supporting students with complex learning needs.
  • Trauma-informed knowledge and sound background supporting students in alternative education.
Requirements
  • Ability to start immediately or by Term 2, 2025
  • NTTRB and OCHRE, or ability to register asap 
  • Full work rights in Australia
