Accountant

Accountant | 3–6 Month Contract | Brisbane

An opportunity is available for an Accountant to join a growing organisation on a 3–6 month contract basis. 

This is a hands-on role supporting the day-to-day finance function while also helping improve and streamline existing processes. Reporting into leadership, you’ll play a key role across payroll, reconciliations, finance administration and month end reporting, while also contributing to process improvement initiatives.

This role would suit someone who enjoys variety, takes ownership and is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities include:

• End-to-end processing of monthly and fortnightly payroll through Employment Hero
• Managing out-of-cycle payroll processing where required
• Payment of payroll oncosts including PAYG, superannuation, payroll tax and novated lease deductions
• Assisting with end-of-year payroll reporting obligations and payroll tax returns
• Bank reconciliations
• Payroll reconciliations
• Processing and payment of employee expense claims
• Reviewing and improving payroll workpapers and reconciliation processes
• Supporting broader finance process improvement initiatives and project work

About you:

• Previous experience in a similar Accounting role that covers month end, invoicing and payroll 
• Strong payroll processing experience
• High attention to detail and ability to work autonomously
• Comfortable improving processes and identifying efficiencies
• Exposure to Employment Hero will be highly regarded, however training and support will be provided
• Available to commence at short notice
