Job Title: Senior Sales Manager
Location: Remote (based between London & Manchester)

THE OPPORTUNITY
This established family business of over three generations is in search of a Senior Sales Manager. This position will play a pivotal role in the development of business into small/convenience retail stores across the UK and maintaining good relationships with existing foodservice customers.

The company is an established family business of over three generations. They were founded in 1982, and are based in Datchet, Slough, they are just 5 miles from Heathrow which gives them nationwide distribution capabilities. Their products are transported 7 days a week to our customers’ CD depots across the UK.
A leader in the industry, expert in importing, selecting, ripening, and delivering the best quality bananas to the UK food industry. They are sourcing high quality bananas from Ecuador, Columbia, and Africa, and prides themselves on their high level of expertise derived from over 32 years’ experience within this sector.

Here are some specific tasks and responsibilities that you might undertake:
- Develop new product lines alongside primary products – Bananas and Plantains.
- Develop and implement a strategic sales plan. Focusing on driving new business across UK convenience stores and existing foodservice accounts.
- Conduct market research to identify key trends, opportunities, and potential challenges within the fresh produce industry.
- Attend industry events to network and stay up to date with the industry advances.

YOUR EXPERTISE
Minimum education/qualification/experience
- Must have good industry contacts/networks – Must have been working within a sales position selling to convenience/small retailers.
- A degree in Sales, Marketing, Logistics, International Trade, Business, or any similar field is preferred.
- 5+ years of related work experience
- Demonstrate a solid foundation in commercial, sales, and marketing.
- Adaptability in small teams, flexibility to various roles and responsibilities within the organization.
- Energetic and ambitious sales expert, driven and results oriented.
- Proficient in remote work, self-sufficient and independent.
- Motivated individual with innovative sales strategies for driving growth.
- Have a strong foundation of knowledge in fruit & vegetables, with good understanding of perishables and the supply chain.
- Expert in the retail area of focus (convenience) and have industry knowledge and contacts within this space.
- Ability to develop relationships with food service and convenience retailers in the UK, NHS related experience in a plus
- Ability to work nationally and travel to customers on own initiative
