Steel Drafter

Job Title: Drafting Intern
Location: El Mirage, AZ
Pay: $17.00/hour
Schedule: Full-time (90-day contract-to-hire opportunity)

Overview:
We are looking to bring on a Drafting Intern to support our team in El Mirage, AZ. This role is structured as a 90-day introductory period with the opportunity to transition into a full-time position based on performance and team fit. Several of our current full-time drafters started through this same path.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone interested in learning drafting within a structural steel environment and gaining hands-on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the drafting team with creating and updating drawings
• Interpret and work from existing plans, sketches, and specifications
• Support revisions and documentation updates as needed
• Collaborate with team members to ensure accuracy and consistency in drawings
• Learn internal drafting standards, tools, and workflows

Qualifications:

• Strong ability to visualize and interpret drawings (required)
• Basic understanding of drafting concepts or willingness to learn
• Detail-oriented with good organizational skills
• Comfortable working in a team environment

Preferred Background:

• Exposure to Architecture, Engineering, Technology, Game Design, or Math-related fields
• Any hands-on experience in machining, drafting, or steel fabrication is a plus
• Prior internship or entry-level experience in a related field is helpful but not required
• Degree is not required but may be considered a plus
