Mechanical Fitters – Expression of Interest
Permanent | Queensland | Conveyor Systems & Material Handling

We’re seeking qualified Mechanical Fitters with 3–5 years of experience in Mining,  conveyor systems, belt splicing, and heavy material handling equipment. These upcoming permanent roles are best suited to tradespeople who take ownership of their work and thrive in stable, long-term site-based positions.
 
Key Responsibilities

• Install and maintain conveyor belts, drive systems, pulleys and rollers
• Conduct hot and cold splicing on fabric and steel cord belts
• Perform inspections, diagnostics and mechanical fault finding
• Support shutdown preparation and fixed plant reliability programs
• Work to site safety standards and contribute to job planning

What We’re Looking For

• Minimum 3 years' post-trade experience in mechanical fitting
• Strong exposure to conveyor systems and material handling equipment
• White card and current Australian driver’s licence (ideally)
• Competency working on live plant and in heavy industry settings
• Additional tickets (Confined Space, Working at Heights) preferred

This role is open to suitably qualified candidates from overseas and sponsorship will be considered for the right applicant. To be eligible, you must hold a valid Skills Assessment relevant to your trade and an English language assessment to the required level, where applicable.
