THE OPPORTUNITY

This global leader in breeding fruit varieties is in search of a Sales Director. This position is primarily responsible for formulating, creating, and implementing a sales strategy tailored for the Americas. The objective is to ensure alignment with the global sales strategy and to facilitate its successful execution. The designed strategy, along with its implementation, should optimize returns for their growers and enhance the company's profit margins.

Here are some specific tasks and responsibilities that you might undertake:
  • Translate Global Sales Strategy into a regional framework, achieving revenue targets, sales objectives, and market share goals.
  • Cultivate stronger relationships with regional retailers, building collaborative partnerships by understanding their specific needs.
  • Engage in strategic market reviews and comprehensive business planning.
  • Gather market and competitor intelligence, identifying emerging opportunities and market shifts, while staying informed about competition and consumer preferences.
  • Keep clients abreast of relevant industry information, including crop updates and weather conditions.
  • Drive new business development with a global market perspective.
  • Validate and supervise Sales Plans, ensuring alignment with key customer business objectives.
  • Establish benchmark pricing for fruit in accordance with the sales strategy.
  • Facilitate fruit sales to preferred customers in targeted market segments at optimal prices and required rates of sale.
  • Identify, define, and implement systems, processes, policies, and procedures to optimize workflow efficiency.
  • Oversee and monitor sales administration processes to maintain the accuracy of information flow.
  • Provide consistent updates to clients regarding their orders.
  • Prioritize obtaining the best possible returns for growers.
  • Represent the company at local and international trade fairs worldwide.

YOUR EXPERTISE

Minimum education/qualification/experience
  • A degree in Marketing, Logistics, International Trade, Business or any similar field.
  • 5+ years of related work experience in the fruit industry.
  • Demonstrate a solid foundation in commercial, sales, and marketing.
  • Experience leading and developing sales teams.
Leadership and behavioral
  • Must be adaptable, demonstrating flexibility in translating and implementing sales strategies.
  • Possess strategic vision and innovative response to achieving great results.
  • Must possess effective communication skills.
Functional and technical 
  • Computer literacy: MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent e-mail etiquette
  • Good fruit marketing knowledge and high degree of product knowledge (fresh produce).
  • Must be located on the East Coast of the USA
  • Willingness to work remotely with travel
