We are seeking an experienced Portfolio Manager to provide portfolio-level governance, oversight, and delivery coordination across a major QLD Government program.

This is a high-impact role where you will operate at a strategic level, ensuring programs and projects align with Queensland Government governance frameworks, ICT delivery standards, and external reporting obligations.
You will act as a key interface between business stakeholders, IT delivery teams, and governance bodies, ensuring cohesive, compliant, and high-quality program delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide portfolio-level oversight across multiple complex ICT programs and projects
- Act as the primary interface between business stakeholders and IT
- Ensure alignment with:
- ICT governance frameworks
- Technical architecture and assurance requirements
- External reporting (e.g. Digital Dashboard, ISC)
- Lead and coordinate governance and assurance activities, including:
- Assurance planning and profiling
- Gated reviews and external assurance engagements
- Deliver portfolio reporting covering:
- Risks and issues
- Delivery confidence (RAG status)
- Performance against tolerance thresholds
- Undertake Senior Supplier role at governance boards
- Drive alignment across delivery teams to ensure a holistic and integrated program approach
- Support projects in establishing:
- Governance artefacts (e.g. PID, baselines, reporting frameworks)
- Consistent, compliant reporting aligned to business expectations
- Identify, escalate, and manage risks and delivery issues
- Contribute to continuous improvement of governance and reporting frameworks
Selection Criteria
- Demonstrated experience managing portfolio or program-level ICT initiatives
- Certification in recognised delivery methodologies (e.g. PRINCE2, MSP, Agile) or experience working in hybrid delivery environments
- Proven ability to engage and influence at senior executive and board level
- Strong understanding of:
- Queensland Government governance and assurance frameworks
- ICT delivery within complex stakeholder environments
- Proven capability to:
- Drive alignment across business and technical stakeholders
- Deliver portfolio-level reporting and performance oversight
Highly Desirable
- Tertiary or post-graduate qualifications in Business, IT, or related fields
- Experience working within Queensland Government or highly regulated environments
- Exposure to external reporting frameworks:
- Information Systems Committee (ISC)
- Digital Dashboard / Digital Investment Governance Framework (DIGF)
