Senior HR Manager

We are currently supporting a strategic search for a Senior HR Manager to lead the human resources function for a prestigious international retail organization. In this dual-reporting role, you will serve as the strategic HR lead, reporting directly to the Regional HR Director and the Japan General Manager. You will oversee the full employee lifecycle for both corporate office functions and a high-profile retail network, ensuring that human capital initiatives are perfectly synced with the brand's commercial objectives.

The position requires a sophisticated balance of high-level organizational strategy and hands-on execution. • Lead the development of comprehensive recruitment strategies tailored to the competitive retail landscape.
• Drive the end-to-end talent lifecycle, from executive sourcing and interviewing to the seamless onboarding of office staff and store leadership.
• Partner with global HR stakeholders to enhance employer branding and leverage shared resources for top-tier talent attraction.

• Architect the annual performance and organizational management reviews to identify and cultivate high-potential talent.
• Manage robust succession planning and performance improvement processes to maintain a high-performance culture across all business units.
• Facilitate leadership coaching and soft-skills training to elevate the capabilities of the corporate and retail management teams.

• Oversee all employee relations, ensuring local HR policies and work rules remain in strict alignment with Japanese Labor Standards Law.
• Lead the annual compensation reviews and meticulously manage the HR budget and labor costs for both office and store operations.
• Optimize HR processes through data-driven decision-making and the utilization of enterprise HRIS platforms.

• Professional Experience: Minimum 8–10 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3–5 years in an HRBP or Generalist Manager capacity.
• Industry Background: Proven track record within the Retail, Fashion, or high-volume service sectors.
• Legal Expertise: Deep knowledge of Japanese Labor Standards Law and experience managing complex employee relations.
• Language Skills: Native-level Japanese and Business-level English for global reporting and regional collaboration.
• Technical Proficiency: Experience navigating complex, matrixed organizations and proficiency in modern HRIS systems (e.g., SuccessFactors).
