Freight Forwarding Graduate

Deluxe Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Freight Forwarder Graduate on behalf of one of our clients based in Bolton, Lancashire. 

Our client specialise in movements between the UK and Ireland, handling all customs formalities and provide a bespoke Freight Management service, from start to finish. They have partners and clients nationwide from varied sectors including, retail, and corporate. With the expertise and support of their staff, they are capable of finding solutions to their customers ever-changing logistics requirements.

Job Specification:

• Responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate movement of freight (All modes of Transport)
• Liaising with customers and suppliers in a professional and timely manner to maximise customer service and experience via telephone and email
• Organise , co-ordinate, and follow up international freight transportation, via all modes
• Ensure accurate and timely data entry into their operating system 
• Interact with customers, airlines, hauliers and overseas partners to ensure the completion of each shipment in accordance with the individual customers requirements 
• Perform an 'End to End' solution for customers, from the initial shipment quote through to delivery completion and invoicing 
• Prepare customs declarations in line with guidelines and submit to HMRC in a timely manner
• Ensure to retain and store all shipment documentation and correspondence on their internal system, to maintain compliance with HMRC and other Regulatory bodies
• Report to Line Manager / Supervisor with any issues to include, operational, financial, and communication issues and propose solutions wherever possible
• Ensuring compliance with all legislation on freight movements

Experience/Skills:

• A friendly and professional demeanour
• Previous experience within a similar role required
• Excellent communication skills and experience working within a team
• Ability to work quickly under pressure
• Self-motivated
• Ability to carry out a wide range of tasks, plan and prioritise effectively

Benefits / Salary:

• Salary £23,000 - £26,000 based on experience 
• Full apprenticeship in Freight Forwarding available (BIFA)

Shift pattern / hours of work: Monday - Friday, 08:30: - 17:30 with 1 x hours dinner.
