About the role
We are seeking a motivated and analytical EL1 Assistant Director, Strategic Pricing to lead economic research and analysis that supports evidence-based decision-making on complex pricing and policy issues.
In this role, you will play a key part in shaping pricing frameworks and influencing the sustainability of a major national scheme, contributing to outcomes that directly impact participants and the broader care economy.
Key responsibilities
As part of the Strategic Pricing Advisory team, you will:
- Lead and contribute to economic analysis and policy development to address challenges within the care economy and human services markets
- Apply statistical and economic modelling techniques to large datasets to better understand market behaviour
- Develop and refine pricing and policy frameworks informed by robust evidence and stakeholder input
- Engage in both theoretical and practical policy considerations relating to current and future support markets
- Collaborate across teams, departments, and with external experts and academics to build shared understanding and solutions
- Support major policy decisions influencing Scheme resource allocation.
- Contribute to stakeholder consultations to test policy ideas and address information gaps
- Demonstrated strategic thinking in solving quantitative and qualitative problems, including development of pricing policies and analytical frameworks
- Superior analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in addressing complex pricing and economic issues and delivering practical solutions
- Strong quantitative mindset with technical capability to analyse data and communicate complex information to diverse audiences
- Proven ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with experience building and maintaining relationships across technical and non-technical audiences
- Energy, enthusiasm and motivation to improve outcomes in the care economy
- A bachelor’s degree or higher in economics, mathematics, statistics, public policy or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
- Experience working on economic challenges within the care economy

- Be an Australian citizen
- Be able to obtain and maintain an Australian Government security clearance
- Complete an Employment Suitability/Police Check
- Obtain an NDIS Worker Screening Check (if required for the role)
