Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and analyse financial statements, budgets, and forecasts for retirement village operations.
• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and organisational policies.
• Manage month-end and year-end processes efficiently.
• Provide accurate financial reporting to support organisational decision-making.
• Support audits and liaise with external auditors as required.
• Maintain robust financial controls and improve existing processes.
• Monitor and report on financial performance, identifying areas for improvement.

Required Skills:

• Proven experience in financial accounting, ideally within the not-for-profit or senior living sectors.
• Strong knowledge of Australian accounting standards and financial regulations.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Effective communication skills for liaising with internal teams and external stakeholders.

Nice to Have Skills:

• Experience with property management accounting or retirement village finance.
• Knowledge of grants and funding management.
• Familiarity with operational systems specific to aged care or retirement living.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modelling.

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
• At least 3-5 years of experience in financial accounting roles.
• Prior experience working in not-for-profit organisations is highly advantageous.
